So, this is the post I have been waiting to do. These books have been really over talked about and thats why I bought them and read them. I read them to share what other people felt about these books but then didnt feel anything. Its okay that I didnt like them. I dont regret buying them or regret reading them. Yes, some of them wasted by time at parts, but I am going to keep them just in case I feel like reading them again and getting a different opinion about them. Certainly not anytime soon, but in the future. But, thats what I get for ASSuming these were good books..
* Me and Earl and The Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews
Goodreads rating: 3.67/5 stars
My rating: 2/5 stars
The only good part about this book was the humor. Other than that there was no story line and did not feel any emotions toward the characters.
* Looking For Alaska by John Green
Goodreads rating: 4.25/5 stars
My rating: 4/5 stars
I just kept reading it to get it over with. All they were doing was smoking and drinking and going to school. A lot of the characters were seriously annoying and I just wanted to put the book down. I kept reading it though and was not impressed. Totally a let down after reading TFIOS...
* Hold Still by Nina LaCour
Goodreads rating: 3.98/5 stars
My rating: 3/5 stars
I honestly dont know how to describe this book. But I kept reading it and it was so-so.
* Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
Goodreads rating: 4.02/5 stars
My rating: 1/5 stars
HOLY HELL. This book sucked balls. Everyone is like 4 or 5 stars and Im like "What..." It was SO boring. I havent seen the movie yet but I hope its way better than the book! There was no plot. His dad was an asshole, his mom was controlling and Tiffany was a freak until the ending of the book. The only people I liked was his brother and therapist. I will probably never read this book again...
There it is! It wasnt as many books as I realized. Maybe I will go back through my shelf and pick some more in the future. These are the main ones for now. Tell me what you think of these books!

Book Review: Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
SYNOPSIS:
Blood doesn't lie...
Sydney is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets - and human lives. When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she's still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir - the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir - is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill's guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty - a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning...
MY REVIEW:
Ohmygosh. This book sucked butt. I only made it to book 5 in The Vampire Academy series and wanted to continue it until I finished them so I picked this book up and caved into the withdraws I was having. Yeah, not impressed. It was JUST like VA! It was someone in the group they had going that was the murderer or whoever was doing the mysterious things. Like, there was nothing original about this storyline! And I hate how Jill acted snotty the whole book and how everyone else was just a douche to Sydney. She totally bitched them out at a part but other times, she just took it. Dear God girl, stand up for yourself! I just didnt fall in love with the characters or get to know them on a personal level at all. The only person I liked out of this whole book was Adrian! And on the back of the book it says there is romance that will get in the way of whatever it is she has to do there. THERE WAS NO ROMANCE! This book took me a week to read and not just because I also read another book. I just didnt want to read this book at times and it was just boring at times. The ending might have forced some other people to go out and buy the next two books but not me. I was just glad it was over. I finished it, closed it and practically threw it back on my shelf. If you liked the Vampire Academy, read something other than this series to fill your vampire withdraws. I love the Vampire Academy but hated this one. Ended up giving this book a 3/5. Ick.

So to conclude for this week:

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead: 421 pages
Total pages read: 832

Maybe, Possibly, Probably.
I go on Goodreads quite a lot and have been getting more friends that share the same interest in books that I do. I see their reviews of books I have already read and see that they loved it just as much as I did. But, at other times, I have to disagree with them... a lot! So, I was thinking I will eventually do one post describing all the books that didnt live up to my expectations but that lived up to other people's or do a review for each of them separately. It is quite a lot of books so I will see how many first before making a post about it. I just think its a good idea because I dont make a huge review on Goodreads about each one and I think I can make it longer on here. Like going into more detail, tell exactly why I didnt like it exactly and give it an honest rating it deserves. Thats my ramblings for the day! Have a good one!

Read-A-Thon Update: Day 6
Holy crap am I tired. I woke up at 7.30 this morning and am exhausted! I am running on about 5 hours of sleep. It is currently quarter after 10 PM so I am doing this a little early because I just might pass out! Today, was probably one of the better days of the week as far as reading goes. I am STILL reading Bloodlines by Richelle Mead and will hopefully finish it tomorrow before midnight-the end of the Read-A-Thon. And somewhere along the week, I got my number of pages wrong. I knew I read more than what I was putting up. I realized I was counting wrong, went back and fixed it and voila! I got it right. To conclude:

Book Review: Opal by Jennifer L. Amentrout
SYNOPSIS:
No one is like Daemon Black.
When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we’re stronger... and they know it.
MY REVIEW:
DAMN YOU JENNIFER! Freaking cliff hanger shit is driving me insane! I could deal with it the first two times because I have all the books, but now that this book doesnt come out til next week and Im mad! I am so going to get it ASAP! This book was a little slow at times because of all the drama and training and stuff, but did it pick up! All the action scenes and how stuff you dont even think of comes out all at once. Freaing frack the heat in this book is toe curling, I swear to you. Can I please have a Daemon now? Alien or not, it really doesn't matter. This book was definitely just as good if not better than the other two. 5/5 stars is appreciatively given to this amazing peace of work. If you havent picked this series up, I really dont know whats wrong with you. Do it. NOW.

Book Review: Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout
SYNOPSIS:
Being connected to Daemon Black sucks
Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.
Something worse than the Arum has come to town
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies .
REVIEW:
Oh holy aliens. I freaking loved this book as much as the first one, if not more! I gave it a 5/5 obviously. I loved every minute of this book and I felt that there was more action in this one than in the first one and i liked that about this book. I think the only thing that really got to me was the fact that Kat kept thinking Daemon didnt like her before they got connected. Like, hello? To hell he didnt! Ahhh, the heat and tension in this book. Enjoyed it quite a bit. And then that ending? AAAHHHHH! Why cant my copy of the third book be in my hands right now?! I will get it this week and read it for the Read-A-Thon! But seriously, if you havent checked this series out yet, get it. Like right now. GO!

Read-A-Thon Update: Day 1
Well, today sucked. Big time. I was really hoping the book I was going to read was going to be in the mail today so I put off reading. Yeah....bad idea. I started reading at midnight last night and read and finished the last 29 pages of Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout. (Which after this post, I will be posting a review on.) And then I went to bed. Woke up this morning and felt the need to read so I read 11 pages of Bloodlines by Richelle Mead. It is currently quarter to 10 at night so I have a few more hours to read of whats left of today, so I will post it tomorrow if I do read anymore. I am also hoping my book will come in the mail tomorrow so I can read that all day! Lets not get our hopes up...

Book Review: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
SYNOPSIS:
Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
MY REVIEW:
I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK! I was kind of iffy about this book considering the whole alien part of it, but I ended up not putting it down and reading it under 24 hours. I loved the whole concept of this book and loved the characters. I love Katy and how she doesnt take any crap from Daemon and his smart-ass remarks. It is always so hot and steamy when they are around each other. And some of the situations Katy was in i could actually feel the heat rising in my cheeks while I was reading it! I just got so into this book and loved every minute of it. I ended up giving it a 5/5 most definitely. I am on the second book one right now and the third one is in the mail and will be read this week! Look out for more of my reviews to come!

Book Review: The Name Of The Star by Maureen Johnson
SYNOPSIS:
The day Louisiana teenager Rory Deveaux arrives in London marks a memorable occasion. For Rory, it's the start of a new life at a London boarding school. But for many, this will be remembered as the day a series of brutal murders broke out across the city, gruesome crimes mimicking the horrific Jack the Ripper events of more than a century ago.
Soon “Rippermania” takes hold of modern-day London, and the police are left with few leads and no witnesses. Except one. Rory spotted the man police believe to be the prime suspect. But she is the only one who saw him. Even her roommate, who was walking with her at the time, didn't notice the mysterious man. So why can only Rory see him? And more urgently, why has Rory become his next target? In this edge-of-your-seat thriller, full of suspense, humor, and romance, Rory will learn the truth about the secret ghost police of London and discover her own shocking abilities.
MY REVIEW:
This book was okay for me. I gave it a 4/5 stars. I loved the concept of this book and she had everuthing planned out really well and I know where the story was going to go but it was a good kind of feeling. There were boring parts of the book and I think thats the reason I gave it the rating I did. I think at times it could have been more action packed. I also had a weird vibe about the whole Rory-Jerome fling. I think at the end I was liking Stephen better than Jerome. I was kind of hoping something was going to happen but it never did. I liked this book and I do want to continue on with the second and third one. If youre into paranormal books, this is recommended!

Review: Wishy-Washy Authors!
So, this post is about me being brutally honest and telling you about the authors I think do a good and bad job at writing books.
My number one author who I hate and love her books at the same time is Sarah Dessen. Yes, I have only read three of her books, but still, its enough to explain how she makes me feel. The first book I read of hers was That Summer. I read it about a year ago and ended up giving it a 3/5 stars. So, it probably wasn't the best idea to start off with that book. Luckily I had another book she wrote called Just Listen sitting on my shelf. I picked that one up about 8 month ago and absolutely loved it. I read it so fast and absolutely loved it. I ended up giving it a 5/5 stars. The book just really spoke to me. So, around Easter this year, I got a copy of Along For The Ride written by her and gave that book a 4/5. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. Everyone says that they love Sarah Dessen's writing and yeah, I like her. She's just not my favorite. I can only take so much of her.
My second wishy-washy author is Nicholas Sparks. Now, before you freak out, I have seen most of his movies that have been made from the books and have read a good majority of his work. The first book I read form him was The Last Song and that was after I went our and saw the movie. I ended up loving that book and wished I owned a copy of it! But, after that, I picked up Nights in Rodanthe and read that one also after watching the movie first. I didn't enjoy that book as much as I did the movie. So, after seeing that, I read The Notebook once again after seeing the movie. I absolutely hated the book! I only gave it a 2/5 stars. It was terrible. I love the movie way better. I read the companion novel to The Notebook which was The Wedding and liked that book too. I read The Lucky One and actually liked that book compared to the movie. And lastly, I read Safe Haven after seeing the movie. And liked the movie better. I think with Nicholas Sparks, its either I like the movie better than the book or vice versa. Seriously, why cant they have the same enjoyment? Why do I have to choose one or the other? I dont know if its his fault or the screen writer's fault, but I would like to feel the same way about one of his books and movies because its like one has a lot of detail and htings happen or its just a crap movie.
The last author I have to talk about is Susane Colasanti. I have read three of her books all this year and feel very undecided about all three of them. The first book I read of hers was Keep Holding On and I didn't enjoy this book. I just think it was the whole realness of the story and how the guy was never in it as much as the blurb described it to be. I think it was the way the story got to me that I was just getting upset about it and didn't want to read on. But I did and ended up giving it a 3/5. So, then I picked up So Much Closer and enjoyed it more than the first one but ended up giving it the same rating. The last one I read of hers was Waiting For You. I actually gave that one a review if you scroll down the page more. I enjoyed that one the most. It was the perfect summer/beach read and I liked it. But I dont think I will be reading another one of her books.
I know all of you reading will have different opinions about the books I mentioned or authors Ive mentioned and that okay. I just wanted to put my opinions out there because I had a lot of the same others in this same category. Thank you for reading!
